We are very grateful for all our custom knifemaker donors to our annual Ultimate Steel fundraiser. We appreciate that donating a knife for the Ultimate Steel isn't easy. We have partnered with some friends to offer you an opportunity to win some very cool prizes in our 2023 Ultimate Steel Knifemaker Donor Drawing.

Like with our Ultimate Steel, this is Winner's Choice, so first drawn gets their pick of all the prizes and each following winner drawn gets their choice of what's left. Prizes donated so far include shop time with some of the most accomplished knifemakers and Master Smiths including Jerry Fisk, Johnny Stout, Owen Wood and Ray Rybar, $1,000 KnifeKits.com certificate, 2 x $500 Jantz certificates and a PulseGraver® from Engraver.com. All prizes donated to date can be viewed at our Knifemaker Donor Page: https://kniferights.org/ultimatesteel/2023-us-knifemaker-donors/ We hope to add more prizes going forward.

We're doing this both to entice new knifemaker donors who have never donated before and to encourage our already generous knifemaker donors to donate again. (Makers who already donated a knife this year are automatically included in the drawing.) We need to do this so that we can raise more money from the Ultimate Steel. More knife prizes will help. Simply put, the cost of our legislative efforts has risen substantially, just as your own expenses have gone up.
We have achieved an extraordinary record of 40 bills repealing knife bans enacted in 26 states and 10 anti-knife bills defeated since 2010 because we show up at the state capitols and lobby. Our biggest variable expense is travel. In just the last nine months our travel costs have risen over 40%! We either need to raise more money or cut back on what we are trying to accomplish. After a near record year in 2022, we want to maintain the momentum into this year. I don't want to be forced to cut back! Oftentimes we only get a single chance to roll back a bad knife law before politics makes it difficult or impossible for the foreseeable future. Let's not lose any opportunities!

The rules are simple.

o For EACH donation in the 2023 Ultimate Steel worth at least $500 you get one entry
o For EACH donation in the 2023 Ultimate Steel worth at least $750 you get two entries
o For EACH donation in the 2023 Ultimate Steel worth at least $1000 you get three entries
o For EACH donation in the 2023 Ultimate Steel worth at least $1500 you get four entries

Engravers also get an entry if they have donated their engraving on one or more knives.

Only one prize will be awarded to any one person. Winners will be drawn after the close of the Ultimate Steel on July 31, 2023.

Your donation knives fuel all the work Knife Rights does fighting for you and your customers and collectors. Participating knifemakers get their knife professionally photographed and we build you a page in the Ultimate Steel with links to your social media and website. We typically get over 200,000 unique individuals viewing the Ultimate Steel and we promote it on our social media. The more exciting and valuable the knife you donate, the more it helps us and the more it helps you...and the better your odds of winning! The Ultimate Steel is a drawing, it is NOT AN AUCTION, so you will never see your knife go for less than its value. You can see how we do by it viewing last year's Ultimate Steel at https://kniferights.org/ultimatesteel/2022-ultimate-steel/

We'd prefer to get your donation by the end of April, but we can accept your donation up through BLADE Show. If you are interested in donating a knife for the Ultimate Steel, please respond to this email and I will follow-up with you with more details on donating, deadlines and the rest. If you have questions, just ask or call me at: 602-292-0997.

If you have knifemaker friends who might be interested in this opportunity, please forward this email. We need all the help we can get.
