Keeper strap attachment

Howdy. When you all make a sheath with a keeper strap, the kind that goes thru the back of the sheath in two slots and around the knife handle (a "standard" keeper strap, I guess you'd call it), how do you attach the strap to the sheath - sewn, riveted, glued, nothing? Thanks for any info.

I would glue and sew one end of the strap to the back of the sheath and have a snap on the other end of the strap and the front of the sheath.

this is the way you do it? can you post a photo? it is a different method than i was asking about, though. thanks, mike

Actually, I use another method on retention straps, more of a retention thong. That is if I'm using a retention device, which I usually don't. With the thong I sew or rivet a loop of flat leather to the back of the sheath, run some leather thong material through it and put a slider front that I can snug up to hold the knife handle.
