Its been a couple years since I joined here and and just after joining our family had some setbacks with the loss of several of our loved ones so I have not been active, however now I am back and thought that I would finally give an introduction. My name is Shane and I am from Louisiana, a fire captain and family man. I build and design hybrid longbows , strip built sea kayaks and have been making knives as for the past 5 years but without any formal instruction so the progress has been slow.
Many years ago I bought a used 3 burner mankle forge for a guy locally that was getting out of the knife making business for whatever reason and moving out of town. Little did I know 20 years later that guy would be my daughters step father in law! Todd invited me over and asked if I would like some formal instruction and for the past 2 years I have been hard at in between building bows for folks.
