Hunter/Utility in bronze and ironwood

J. Doyle

Dealer - Purveyor
Here's a nice one, fresh off the bench. I send my fair share of knives out the door (at least 5 a year :p ;) ....a little joke for those of you that know me well) and most of them I'm fine with seeing them go and have no particular attachment. Heck, some of them I can't wait to get out of here. :D But this one I'd REALLY love to keep. I like the materials and the colors, the details and the slimness of the handle....everything about this one I like a lot. Anyway...

Forged from 1075 steel
8 1/4" overall, 4" blade
Rounded spine and ricasso
Rounded filed thumb grip
Bronze collar with stippled band
Damascus fluted accent
Desert Ironwood handle w/ carved and stippled panels

All comments and discussion welcome.

The amount of detail you get into your accent pieces is amazing. How in the world you get so many pieces to align dimensionally after they've been worked individually blows my mind.

Mr Doyle (anybody that can turn out a knife looking like that is for sure a "Mr" to me) - that is one nice looking knife - the hamon really sets the whole thing off. Nice work!

Wow John! I found myself gazing at the close up of the guard and spacer. I have no idea how long I was doing that - I lost time.

Next level stuff, for sure. You sure are pretty good at this knife making thing.

John that one is just awesome! It is one of those you sit and study and then you realize it is the little subtle things that your eye moving over that really impresses you. Your attention to detail is shown well with that one. Two thumbs up John!!

Love the knife overall, but that textured handle really does it for me! I know how long it takes to put that kind of detail work into the handle as I am working on something similar, yours is amazing!
