How to change bearings in contact wheel?

I ordered the wrong size ... my fault. So what I’m really asking first is.... how do I get the wrong ones out?

If you ruined the bearings while installing them take small diameter punch and hammer them out from the off side.

You might want to start with a brass punch with nice a square face, just go around it tapping ,it should come out.
when I bought my 12" wheel I watched a video of someone putting a sleeve inside, between them and I thought if you do that you'd really have a hard time getting them out so I skipped that idea.

I have changed several. Like Ty says, a rod or punch and tap them out through the hole via the other side. Move around the perimeter as you do it. A little spray oil wouldn’t hurt if they are sticky but that usually isn’t a problem.

Ok so I got them out. Now to put new ones back in do I use a hammer and a 1-2-3 block? Thanks for y’alls help by the way

A press is better but tapping on wood or a 123 block will work also.

And not to offend, but for clarification for anyone in the future who may read this thread and has never dealt with bearings-

Tap on the outer race only.

I replaced the bearing this morning, and she’s up and running. The new wheel seems to induce some tracking problems.... nothing huge though. Thanks for the information guys!!!

What kind of tracking issues? Does the belt wander or did you just have to adjust the tracking over a little bit?

The belt was wondering a bit, but I tightened everything up and it’s perfect again!

okay good. if it was wandering back and forth i’d say the bearings weren’t entirely seated.
