Help Titan Out

Hi Knifedogs,

Titan needs surgery for a hematoma in his ear. His ear looks like someone stuffed a sausage in it. We took him to the vet & he stuck a needle in it and took 2 syringes full of fluid out, but as soon as we got home it was full again. This cost $160.00. The vet says it has to be surgically corrected, and it's going to cost $650.00+. We don't have it, and he won't do it till we do. (He's been our vet for a long time, but he's been burned in the past, not by us). Titan is almost 8 1/2 yrs. old and has to be put to sleep, which isn't good, but if it isn't treated, it can cause more problems & he is already prone to infections.

I want to raffle off my Handmade German Bull (production knife) that I carved lions into to raise money for Titan. It comes with the original box, sheath and an artist's letter of authenticity.

Here are the raffle rules:

 • There will be 100 Spots.
 • Spots are $6.50 each or 2 for $12.00 or 3 for $18.00 with no limit.
 • Numbers will be drawn from the CT Lottery Play 3 Night Game. We'll use the first two numbers and draw the first evening that it's full.
 • Please post the number of spots you want in the thread below and I will check off your spots every evening.

 • You can't pick your own number. Spots will be assigned in sequence starting with 00 & ending with 99.
 • Raffle is over when all slots are filled or in 14 days, whichever comes first.

Please PM me with any questions.

Thanks for looking, and GOOD LUCK!

I'll take 10 spots Catherine. Check goes in the mail tomorrow morning. I met Titan and I hate to see the gentle giant have to go through this. Give him a hug for me, Cathy.

Thanks Laurence, Doug & Gary,

Just to show I'm on the up and up here, I'm selling my motorcycle too. No checks will be cashed until the end of the raffle. In the event that not enough spots are sold, I will return all checks. Times are tough. My husband and I are self-employed, but I'd be a bad pet owner if I didn't do everything I could for my best friend. Unfortunately, the state doesn't provide health insurance for dogs.

Sorry this Raffle didn't go thru. I'm very disappointed. I would have left the knife go if I sold at least 50 spots. I don't think $6.50 a spot was to much to ask for a knife that is worth $350 to me. It may not be right away, but Laurence, Cecilia, Doug and Gary will get something special for their help. THANK YOU!

Titan had his surgery. It couldn't wait. I used the down payment from the sale of my motorcycle. Here are pictures of Titan. They sewed plastic to the outside of his ear so he can't flap his ear, and cut a slit on the inside to drain the fluid. In 3 weeks the stitches get removed. Since he did so well, he didn't have to stay over night, which saved us some money.

Sorry I didn't see this in time to get in on raffle to have chance at such a nice knife and more importantly help Titan. I know what having pet health problems is like and will pray that he has full recovery and the funds are supplied.

Thanks Bubba & Ausbrooks for your concern and prayers. Titan has made a full recovery and is doing well. Except for a small scar on the inside of his ear, it is back to it's normal size.
