Handle Material suggestions

Lets do a poll. What handle material do you think would work best with this knife? The blade is Matt Walker damascus so will end up being very dark with very clear markings. I have not decided on a bolster but will probably go with more of the Walker damascus , therefore also dark. The knife is just over 7 1/2 " long open and 4" closed. Let me know you choices for handle and why.
Thanks
Steve

I'm with Ironwolf. Classic, but CF or a black wood might look good also. The black color might really send your eye to the damascus and not compete with it. Dozier

Gday Steve,

Dark blade, dark bolsters, both damascus..........then i would use a light coloured material thats not too busy. Pearl, an ivory, olive wood maybe..........

Cheers Bruce

I'm not much for stag, but that's just my personal preferance. I would agree that a quality damascus blade deserves quality handle material. If I were going to choose a wood for this, I would go for a nicely figured Ironwood. Of course, a nice mammoth or ivory would be great too.

Maybe do a test etch on the blade and bolsters so we can see the pattern?

the steel patterns and handle should complement each other

Go wild, Steve! Find yourself some nice birdseye maple...
