Grandson's christmas present

I made this hatchet for my grandson Blake for Christmas 2008. 1/4" O-1 with green canvas micarta. I can't remember to what Rc I treated it but it works well, he loves it and uses it all the time. He was 7 years old at the time, he's 9 now and made his second knife 2 weeks ago in my shop. I think he has the knifemaking bug and will be a good maker someday.

VERY cool Calvin ! My grandparents weren't worth squat, LOL, so I always enjoy stories like this. My folks are GREAT though, both as parents and grandparents to my kids and nieces and nephew.
