good morning,
new knife maker. have completed one and have two ready for heat treat, all done with basic hand tools(files and lots of emery cloth), heat treat in fireplace. have completed 1/2 dozen knife blanks i bought on ebay. cant find a store bought knife that works for me in the kitchen or shop. either the handles are not right (i have large hands and arthritis) or the blade is too big/too small/too pointy......
i retired from the USNavy in 1993. i currently work maintenance in a forging facility that makes car parts. have basic woodshop where i make my own handles and handle materials from wood cut from trees in the neighborhood(spalted maple, dogwood, and oak)
glad to be here
