First Heat Treat of 440C Does This Look Normal?

This is right out if the foil. Not tempered yet. Does this look ok? I don’t know what to look for.

If your talking about the colors, I get that sometimes. Especially if you cleaned it with something like acetone before putting it in. Looks normal to me.

Thanks. I did clean it with acetone and followed that up with denatured alcohol.

That does look normal. If you play with plate quenching and air you get some pretty cool colors. The problem is it's just on the surface so it does wear off with time.
