Finishing Dymondwood

How does one get Dymondwood to show a a high polish? I have been getting a nice finish with the buffer, but I have seen some handles that really shine.

high gloss polyurethane or if you are really determined lacquer...

What grit are you sanding it to? I have not used it in years but i found that if you sand it to at least 600 grit then buff it will polish up nice.

I sand to 600 grit. I have green chrome, but have been using white compound. Any preference to type of buffing wheel to use?

I haven't used any for a few years but I did pretty much just like micarta. Go down to at least 600 grit, buff with a sewn wheel with white compound lightly just to remove any scratches and then finish up with a loose buff and the green chrome compound. All with 1750 rpm buffer. I will shine like a piece of glass.

Edit, you probably already know but be careful with all buffing but especially those loose buffs.
