couple of kitchen blades

I haven't posted any pics on here in a long time, so I thought that I would show some kitchen knives that I completed recently. Both are AEB-L which I am really liking. The suji is 270mm with blackwood scales and blue G10 liners with SS micro-Corbys. The Gyuto is around 225mm with an old growth Brazilian rosewood ferrule, blue G10 spacer and curly maple butt finished with red alkanet root oil. It was my first wa style handle and used a slotted oak dowel core and 1/16 registration pins. Both have an 800 grit MOL finish.IMG_0687.JPGIMG_0674.jpg

Those are beautiful. That rosewood and curly maple handle looks great.
Thanks. The rosewood was part of like a 4 inch piece off of the end of an 18 inch stick and that end was crazy dark for some reason, much more so than the other couple of pieces that I have. I have had the stuff for years and I wasn't even sure what this one piece was until I cut it and smelled it.
