Counterbores

I was starting my Bulldog kit (Thanks BossDog) build and found I needed a few different counterbores. Since most counterbores are for the screws the pilot part doesn't really help when you are doing a pivot hole. Anyway long story short I found a nice link on making a counter bore.

I haven't had a chance to try it out at all but it looks pretty good. I think a lot of knifemakers have problems finding counterbores for corby bolts, pivots and screws in general.

My answer to this problem has been to purchase counterbores with interchangable pilots. You can get them from just about any of the major tool suppliers.

I also use the interchangable pilot type. A word of caution on counterboring titanium: firmly clamp your work, use a slow speed on your drillpress, and use a cutting lubricant. Don't even try to use a slightly dull tool. You can mess up your work and ruin an expensive tool in short order...guess how I know ;)
