Celtic Know Mosaic Damascus

    Some folks had asked me about my "Celtic Knot" pattern mosaic damascus.... previously I posted a pic of a billet that was a single bar of the material. Here's what happens when you take that single bar and pile it up into a "16 way" .... for those who don't understand that, it means that I reduced the size to 1/2" square, stacked 16 pieces of the original bar/billet..... 8 across, and 8 up and down, then forged them all together. As most who build Mosaic Damascus know....it's all about "one more manipulation". [​IMG]:) This pic is as good a close up as I could get from a slice taken off a 1 1/4" square billet.

    Below is a part of the oigonal billet..... which was a 4 way.

    Ed, that 4 way is impressive.... but the 16 way is IMPRESSIVE!!!
