Billy Graham on sin.

From Billy Graham's newspaper column this morning. "Sin always harms us...always. We might not realize it;we might even deny it...but the reality is still there:sin always hurts us.
It hurts us personally;it hurts our bodies and our minds and our souls...and most of all,it hurts our relationship with God."

Billy Graham is right when we look at sin the rules are for our own benefit. God is the ultimate parent. When my daughter wants to play on the stairs and I don’t let her she is very unhappy. Since I’m the parent I can see that she will get hurt so I impose my rules for her safety. When we look at the Ten Commandments we find the perfect law. The whole world could run with these as the only rule of law, provided we tried to live up to them.

"For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Galatians 5:14

Walk by that and you will find yourself being more holy by accident than you ever could on purpose.... :)
