Art Nouveau Dagger

Finally finished it. All in all I think it came out ok. Not 100% what I envisioned when I first started but with each knife I seem to get better at actually making what I first envision. That's a good sign I guess.

Specs:
Blade length: 6 1/8” OAL: 11 5/8”
Grind: Hollow
Steel: 5160
Handle: Flamed Box Elder Burl (double dyed/stabilized by WSSI)
Guards & pommel: Mild steel (1018) blued, copper and stainless steel

Hope you like it.

I'm not sure what to think Patrice. It certainly is an outstanding exibition of your artistic ability. The entire piece is clean and crisp and well put together. But to me, the wings at the riccaso give an unbalanced appearance. It also gives me the impression that if enough pressure is applied to the blade, it will fold.
Please do not take offense. I certainly do not think I could duplicate your efforts, I doubt my skills as a craftsman are in the same league as yours.

It pleases my eye...and that is what makes it desirable. So you have a winner!

Blessings,
Eric

No offense taken Eric. Feedback is why I post these. That and I am vain. ;)

I knew making it that was a tad outside the box.

Thanks for the good words.

Pat, I like it! I can see a full dagger, by that (equal cuts on both sides) with double wings or perhaps even a short sword. OK I am just rambling but I DO like it! :35:

Most definitely an objet d'art! Interesting design and choice of materials - nice work.
