Hello all!
I have enjoyed making "kit" knives for quite a while. I wish I had a kiln and good grinder etc... Still stuck on making handles and scales and modifying the "kit" blades etc.
I have a historic piece of cable Damascus and would love to find someone who can forge it into a blade. It is a piece of the stainless cable used in the V.A.B. to assemble the Space shuttle. I don't know the type of steel, but the "Maker" who gave it to my brother at The Kennedy Space Center said to work it at 1960 degrees. He has made some great knives from this.
Maybe we can trade something out, I have tons of Indian Ebony which has been air dried for over 30 years. It is VERY stable.
