If this is a prime example of Neo-tribal, what if we found out it was built on a propane fired forge? Does that lessen it's 'neo-tribalness'? Or the fact it wasn't made from hand smelted ore? I don't think so, as an art form and a useful tool it seems to be a perfect example should it matter...

Hated to ruin a band saw blade so cut off a piece, heated it with the torch to no-magnetic and dropped it in a bucket of water. It snapped like a pane of glass and has a grain as fine as can be. I think it will work, and thanks all of you for the help. It's only .078 thick so I'll be limited...

Not gang saw, continuous band. The pieces had been snapped at various lengths to fit the back of a pick-up.

I take a reliever for severe arthritis. It also makes me more emotional it's the pits sometimes but you just deal with it and grind away.

Thanks, I'm old and shaky with bad eyes, and even with a 'Bubble Jig' it's the pits when a sudden jerk or twitch ruins hours of forging. And, being a hobby I don't get too much practice.

Has anyone used Tru-Oil on a sheath? If so either before or after stain, how does it look, work and hold up? Thanks
