    Assisted open flipper pattern

Hi all. I have an idea of an assisted opening flipper. I've made assisted opening liner locks with a split back/spring spacer as the assist and also with a piece of spring wire under tension attatched to the spacer, both work. Now I'm looking at an assisted opener in a flipper model and...

    2 more for 2011

Here's a couple more of the 'carribean' pattern I've been working on. Both about 71/2 overall. One with copper bolsters and tiger maple and a home'made copper thumb stud. Second has dyed box elder burl, 1080 etched bolsters and a leather pull from the back spacer. Comments welcome.

    3rd folder for 2011

Just finished this one. 1080 blade and back spacer, ti liners and ebony grips. I left the back spacer a little 'proud'. I usually grind this flush but it looked good the way it was. 3 1/4 blade and around 7 1/2 overall, linerlock. Kevin.

    New folder design

Here's a new folder design I've been working on, for years actually!. It is a front locking folder. The upsweep on the end of the back spring is actually the lock. Run your finger down the back of the blade, pull back on the spring and the blade unlocks. Still looking at options for one handed...

    New to Forum

Hi all. I discovered this forum from a link elsewhere. I consider myself a newbie at making knives, although I've been doing it for a few years now. Stock removal only and mostly small straight blades. Got our first snow this week so there will be some time in the shop now. Looks like lots...

    New Here.

Just came in looking at the plans for the no weld grinder. I'm thinking of going with a variable speed this winter. I'm a hobbyest, not full time, stock removal, no forging, and would like to try my hand at folders this winter. I ride motorcycles in the summer and grind when the weather gets...
