Thanks for the compliment Dave, I will try not to let it go to my head. ;) Bruce I am sorry to miss the Boise show too, I think I will go ahead and give Blade Atlanta a try. Like you say I am sure it will be an experience. We will consider it a mini-vacation so we can't lose. Todd

    Japanese Gun Knife

I was looking forward to the Boise Show and catching up. It was also giving me a deadline to get some things done. Here is one I finished a few days ago. http://knifedogs.com/showthread.php?27073-Clay-Hardened-Full-Integral-with-Fuller-and-Cocobolo-Handle&p=226714#post226714 I am considering...

Clay Hardened Full Integral with Fuller and Cocobolo Handle

It has been a long time since I finished anything but I thought I would pass it along. It is W-1 and the overall length is 11 1/2", the sharp is about 6" and it is 1 3/8" wide. Thanks for looking. Todd

    Japanese Gun Knife

That must be a handy driver's license to have. It looked like about a 22 caliber but all the descriptions were in Japanese so it was hard to tell. Todd

    Japanese Gun Knife

Hi Bruce, Last summer my wife and I spent three weeks in Japan. In Matsumoto we toured a Japanese fort with an elderly Japanese man who spoke excellent English. Inside the fort there were various weapons displayed. We came upon one case and he pointed at one item and said that "This is where...

Carved ebony and damascus sculpted integral

Thanks for the comments. I was really pleased that the knife won the "Best art knife" at the Boise show. There was some talk that I should make a matching fork and steel and turn it into a carving set. It is an interesting idea, except I don't have more of that wood, whatever it is to match the...

Carved ebony and damascus sculpted integral

This is the fanciest knife I have made. I went with a feather/ wing motif. It sort of reminds me of the Harley Davidson logo. It will go with me to Boise. It is 1080/15n20 feather pattern with a wrought iron butt cap. Again I want to Bruce Bump and Kevin Casey for their feather tutorials, and...

    Northwest carved integral in W-1

Lagrange I actually am not very patient generally but it allows me to get unstressed from a day of teaching teenagers. Or trying anyhow. Todd

    Northwest carved integral in W-1

Lagrange, the time is in getting it all nice and smooth and shiny. I rough it out with a die grinder and files and that goes pretty quick. I ned to learn what tools jewelers use for the finish work as I do a lot with little pieces of sand paper which is too slow- Todd

    Northwest carved integral in W-1

I will look forward to it. I don't know where I am going to be, I assume there will be a map somewhere. Todd

    Northwest carved integral in W-1

I finished this in the summer and I finally got some pictures. I am taking it to the Boise show. I think of this as a Northwest knife because the bolster kept reminding me of a Northwest Indian motif when I was working on it. I didn't really set out to do it but it reminds me of an eye from a...

    Gaucho feather integral

Thanks again, after Boise I am going to work on reproducing the pattern. If I figure it out I will let you all know how. Stew, I really like to do integrals and I like that the flow of the feather (flamethrower) and integral seem to go together- Todd

    Gaucho feather integral

Thanks for the kind words. Calvin I love the "flamethrower" title. It is funny, I never saw it that way until you said it but now I can't see it any other way. I am going to have to try and figure out how it came about. Bruce, I really want to thank you for your tutorials and your sharing. I...
