    Forged in Fire Testing

I enjoyed fif when Inhad a tv lol. My main complaint was the tests... Not the silliness of them sommuch as the "inaccuracy" of them. Theres too many extra variables. Like for example... Having blades judged by how well they cut when swung by a judge. Well... Theres bound to be some fatigue and...

    My shop is collapsing...

Its not a big dig either really so it may be doable... I need a trench about twenty to thirty feet long by perhaps six feet deep and however wide to keep it from filling back up.

    My shop is collapsing...

Yeah lol its a decent size... I was lucky there but not so much with this wall problem. Weld up some beams, thats a great idea! Ill look into that... I was told it should be fine for many more years before I can get to it, but I guess not. The plan was to dig the outter wall and put in some...

    My shop is collapsing...

I really dont know what to do with it atm. I purchased this home in 2018 it has a detached garage with basement. Approx 4000 square feet up and another 4000 downstairs. The foundation wall under the bay doors had cracks in it and huge beams supporting it. We were told its been like that for...

First attempt at ferric chloride, what happened?

As far as I know you can use any number of oils, peanut, canola, so long as you cool the steel to 1000 degrees in about .5 seconds. But to get the most out of a 1095 quench you need a fast quench like parks 50. Which I believe (dont quote me lol) to get the most out of a fast quench you really...

    Making wood "gripier"

Large knife with a rough sanded walnut handle... The wood is integral to the knife design so I would rather not change it, but its a bit slick. Ive considerd checkering the wood for more grip. What else can be done?

    Hand care?

Honestly ive suspected RA for a number of years but the medical systemmhere is so slow and difficult. I was tested once and the doctor said the test came back negetive for RA but when I saw my medical files quite a time later it said "tested positive for Rheumatoid arthritis, but probably not...

Youre correct that is pricey. I wonder if forge welding flatbar would be cheaper by much. Thanks!

    Cutting in finger holes

I use a step bit as well and finish with a drum sander. It works well for me BUT im trying to find a way to slightly round the inner edges of the hole uniformly sort of like the inside of ring. I used to use drill bits and slowly go up in size... But I found it tedious changing all the bits and...
