3 3/4" Traditional Lannys Spear Prototype for me, let me know what you think. It's a 3 3/4" traditional spear point saber ground on a Lannys clip frame. In my opinion it turned out great. Pulls about a 6 and pinches to open. Halved in green micarta Blade is .105 ATS-34 60 RC ground...

    Swayback Wharncliffe How To

I feel your pain Bruce! The wounds are still fresh!!! I have found that soaking the Ivory in peanut oil for days or even weeks before I work with it helps a bunch! It looks great though....I know I wouldn't mess with it. ;)

    MY FIRST SLIPJOINT

Its crazy to take pride in a craft that's so humbling.....don't you think! Just when I get all filled up on complements.... (Mostly from people who haven't a clue about what they're looking at!) I go back to the shop do something stupid and have to throw a knife in the trash and start over...

    4" Stag Trapper

Just thought I would share one that I just shipped off. 4", in D-2, and Sambar, with a small Bullocks Shield. BTW, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at the Blade. If this year is like years past, I will be hanging around the Bose table quite a bit....wiping the drool from my chin!

Slip Joint makers and FLAT pieces

Do you have a machine trades school close? Sometimes you can get the students to surface grind it for you. They may ask you to cut it up first.

Slip Joint makers and FLAT pieces

First buy surfaced ground blade stock and only hand sand it with 400 grit or finer and Mic it often while sanding. As for the liners, I will lay them on the grinder using a fresh belt at a slow speed. Next how are you holding your parts to the platen? I found some two sided scotch tape the...

    Question on folder bushings

Yes....well not quite ....maybe .045 -.055 on a knife with bolsters that are .120 thick. With the bushings you can move quite a bit of material.

    Question on folder bushings

I feel your pain Bruce! I've thought about just making some out of stainless. I know its not a bearing material but it would work for a small knife. I have got a peanut on my list for next month and I'm already loosing sleep about it. I'll be praying for you. (I think He cares about...

    Question on folder bushings

I started out in '05 just peening with no bushings. Tony showed me how to use the bushings and I've never looked back. Once you do it you will love that you can literally pound the Crap out of the pivot pin (with in reason) and the clearance remains consistent. I use a 10 degree reamer and...
