    2 New Skinners

    My first forged blade

    I got a great deal on a forced air induction forge and a 200 lb anvil, some hardy tools and tongs. I have been keeping a ring off an old split rim for just such an occasion, and on Sunday I hammered out my first blade. I will start my ruff grind later today, and post more pics as this one...

    Bowie Thrower

    I'm not completely happy with it, but it is done. Stock removal from 1/4" 0-1 precision ground. Its 16" and about 35 ounces with a brass guard and elk scales. This knife was made to throw and compete, and possibly use a boat anchor, lol -sd IKTHOF #222

    I have ground up all my stock, and went to a new place today to buy more. All they stock is 0-1, so I bought a couple of pieces, I just had to have something to work on over the weekend :biggrin: What am I looking at as far as my grind and then heat treat? I have a propane forge and an oil...
