    I would have never thought....

That buying a new airgun would lead me to writing for an online Airgunner magazine! I called Archer Airguns one morning, to ask some questions about my airgun purchase, and without knowing, had a great conversation with the Owner, and found that he also runs Hard Air Magazine (HAM). We...

Right and Wrong way to "drill out" a full tang

I see images all over the internet of full tang knives being constructed with a bazillion holes drilled in the tangs. I have never been able to wrap my head around the logic of it. I dear friend recently posted a pic, and I stole it to illustrate my point. (Because I only drill TWO, usually...

    Just have to share this.....

Most of you know that I am a Christian, and that I rely heavily on my faith to keep me going. Because of my health situation, my Docs finally have cleared me to start venturing out and about, and today, for the first time in over a year, Mom, Cindy and I attended Church IN PERSON! I know that...

    I Did a bad thing!!

Since .22 ammo is not existent, and with spring coming to Montana.....that means it's time to shoot gophers and Prairie Dogs! So I thought it might not be a bad idea to get myself a "good" airgun, because .22 cal pellets are fairly plentiful. Well, I went a dipped a toe into the PCP...

    A couple of grinder Mods

Two things that I have always thought were/are overlooked on most grinders..... The "knobs" used on the tracking adjustment, and the "shield" for sparks/swarf that is located at/on the idler wheel. I modify all my grinders as soon as they come into the door with the tracking adjust change...

    More health stuff.....need some prayers!!

Just asking for some prayers! I've been holding off letting this be known, but tomorrow (23 March) I go in for a heart cath. Right around Christmas, my BP started spiking up, so I got referred to a Cardiologist..... did a bunch of tests, and afterward, the Doctor said they saw things on the...

    Easy and cheap file handles

Not sure if I've shared this one..... but most of use use files in one way or another. File tangs can really rip up a hand if you slip, and buying a file handle is stupid pricey. Here's my solution..... Golf balls! Either cheap or free, and all you have to do is drill a hole about 3/4...

    Something with Nostalgia...

I've been hording this piece of handle material since my first mentor gave it to me..... Original Westinghouse Butterscotch PAPER micarta. Westinghouse hasn't produced micarta since 1995, and this particular variety hasn't been produced since 1965! I finally decided it wasn't doing anyone...

    Resuming Bladesmithing/Kifemaking Classes

I'll be getting my second covid vaccine in a few days, and have decided that I will reopen scheduling Bladesmithing/Knifemaking classes. FOR DATES STARTING JULY 2021. With the uncertainty of the pandemic, and the new strains of the virus running around, I will be making one major...

If you need a quench tank......

I prefer horizontal quench tanks, and aside from welding up one yourself, here is a good deal on something you can use as a quench tank. This size is good for hunters up to bowie sized blades. I have a couple of these besides my heat regulated quench tank..... one holds vet grade mineral oil...

    Gun Powder Therapy :)

Had a Doc appointment this morning, and since the wind was near zero (a very rare thing where I live), I decided a bit of sighting-in, and a little longer range practice couldn't hurt. :) Got the new scope on the 6.5x55 dialed in, along with a new .17cal, and of course, what's a trip to the...

    Latest Mosaics.....

Just did a quick "proof" etch on these two..... Got what I wanted in this one... But this one got a bit more compacted then I'd hoped.... Top one is getting turned into a high end hunter for a client. I think I might work on the second one a bit and try to draw it widthwise..... to open...

    KDs Best of 2020....

It's been one crazy year, but..... the last day of 2020 is here! Lets see what you consider your "Best of 2020" knives! My year has been slow. As most know I battle chronic illness and pain, so sometimes I can work, and other times I'm balled up on the couch for days. I did manage a couple...

    An early Christmas present!!

This is what happens when you've been doing this for so long.... you pick up thing along the way, put them "away" with the idea of "I'll remember where that is".... and then YEARS later, you discover it! :) Case in point, a 500lb coil of .060" X 6" wide PRE 1990 1095 steel! I had stashed...
