    thanks, Dennis. according to the web, custom furniture makers are clamoring for the pine. pretty rare, I guess. I have probably 500 board feet that I haven't even cut into rounds yet.

    Just angle it for the clearance you need. Just a couple of small wedges on the bottom would be enough.

    Mark , I must admit that I had reservations about this at the start , but you really pulled the rabbit outta the hat. This turned out really sweet. Great job. And the handle is terrific. I'm sure that after you get it sharp , you'll be doubly proud.
