    Edge damage question.

I wonder what was under the fish when he was cutting it up? Stainless steel table? Or maybe cutting fish heads off bigger fish and torqued the blade on the spine. Salmon/striper etc. have some tough bones that could easily tweak an edge on a fillet knife.

What's going on in your shop?

I managed to screw up a nice little DP Hunter yesterday. Wasn't watching closely enough and took off too much metal. Hadn't trashed one in awhile, guess I broke that streak!

    Drop Points and a Bowie

Yes, that rattler got a little too close to the house. Leather work is a new thing for me. Many clients wanted a sheath and trying to outsource it was challenging.

    A little help needed

I did something similar on a batch of knives awhile back. I got them back and realized that the holes were all wrong. I had to walk out of the shop for a while. I did a few with masonry bits 1/4" but ended up buying several 1/8" carbides. Wasn't too big of deal

Where should i sell my knives

The biggest issue with the FB police is that they don't like anything that is a weapon. I've had a few selling posts that were blocked because they had the word "Knife" in the post. I've even tried without any reference to knife, blade, etc., but they still got blocked. It seems to be a little...

    440c Question

Ok, so I'm 99% sure I'm just second guessing myself here but I wanted to check. I recently ordered some 440c from NJ steel baron. It had the option for Decarb or no Decarb. I chose no decarb. After grinding some I got to wondering if the fact that it had decarb meant that it had already been...

No Weld Grinder Motor Wiring Question

I just got my Weg motor from surplus city (this model) and I can't seem to find any documentation on the wiring. I searched several sites as well as the manuf's site but no dice. I was hoping one of you has hooked up this motor before. Here are a couple of pix I'm wiring for the low voltage...

    First Knives

I made these first two for my kids and another one for me that is still underway. The blades are from usa knives. The handles are Ca Claro Walnut finished with boiled linseed oil mixed with a little shellac. I had a local leathersmith make the sheaths. Still educating myself on the whole...
