We still weld a lot in coal but also have a diamondback forge two burner. It will reach welding temps and then some. If Im not mistaken it will hit a tested 2500*. I can personally attest to melting the edge of some 1084 in it :p It has a 30psi regulator and starts welding high carbon stuff...

Wagon Wheel, Curly Maple and Aldos 1095fg

A plain hawk forged from wrought iron with a welded in bit of aldos 1095(Which I like a LOT, by the way). Curly maple done with Aqua Fortis. Not a lot of filework or anything because this was kind of a test run with this batch of wrought. Its full of phospherus and silica, lots of figure when...

We make a lot of these wrap and weld hawks. This one is made from Kelly Couples 1065. Wrapped and forge welded. Somewhat of a forge finish, curly maple and sheath. When you forge that "notch" in the bottom of the blade you'll find out quick if you have a good weld or not :D

    Question Concerning Grizzly 2"X72"

We have a Coote with the small wheel attachment. While its not a KMG its still a fine machine and has paid for itself many times over ;) We had to have a 10" contact wheel for all the hawks and axes we do. The price tag on a KMG(with 10" wheel) was out of reach at the time. Ill havea KMG or...

Whats on your work bench this March?

We always have hawks on the bench. Right now there is also a hunter of 1084fg and a bowie of Aldos 1095. A "carry on the tractor" cable damascus knife that uses the cable for the handle and a RR spike knife for a local..A stack of 1065 for wrap and weld hawks.
