Is that how you normally round the corners on your handles? Most knives that I've done have been hard to get the symmetry right and hard to get a nice, round edge. I don't have a grinder that I can slack belt with.

How does 1084 compare to 1095? I'm familiar with 1095 but not 1084....

So what ya'll are saying is, I need the platen to be the same width as the belt (4 in), or does it need to be the same width as the existing platen? The existing platen is about 4 1/2 or 5 inches wide so the belt doesn't even cover the whole thing.

I've been using old, used circular saw blades to make my knives because it helps me to get the mechanical skill and experience without having to buy and possibly screw up good steel. I know a lot of saw blades were made out of L6. I have no idea if mine are or not. Anyway, my question is...

I can't get the computer to upload the pic....buts its a EAGLE TOOLS 4x36 with 6in sanding wheel attached. Model 301.

Anybody know of a good way to flat grind on a 4x36? All I've been able to do so far is kinda a scandi/convex grind and its really to thick for good cutting.
