    BrandantR's KITH

I received BrandantR's KITH knife last week and I've spent a few days getting to know it. This, my friends, is a true gentleman's folder. Perfect for a watch pocket or to carry with a suit. I make tactical folders that are big and a bit imposing. This is on the other end of the scale...

    TW90 Shipping

KenH already posted the video. I'll add that the platen plate is the one I use a lot. In the horizontal position it allows the entire platen to be used along with both wheels. The magnets are ridiculously strong. I have to use a small rubber mallet to get them off. The upside is that they...

    TW90 Shipping

Yeah, I've got Travis' cell phone number in my phone and I've talked to him a few times. He's very hands on and always takes the time to talk and explain. OP you may want want to order his doubler plates that he's making now. They're VERY handy. I use them all the time. I could have made...

    Razor Sharp Edgemaking System

I use the buffing wheel (without the grit) as part of my sharpening process. But I establish the secondary bevel with done 120 or 220 belt on my 2x72 grinder. The grit wheel is too aggressive IMO and wouldn't recommend using it every time you sharpen a knife. It wouldn't be long before all...

    Has your faith been tested?

I swore I would not wade into these waters but I really feel you, your wife and your family. The good news is that medical science is better than it's ever been and is getting better every day. This is where your best hope lies. Good luck and I hope for the best for you

If any of you saw my bench you'd call OSHA and have me shut down

    Question of why???

I suppose it's a modified version of guards that have been on knives for a long long time. It's a bit more safe than a knife without it as there some protection from the sharpened blade. It also provides some tactile feedback but I don't think it's a necessity. I put them on a lot of fixed...

If a hole is off a little!!!

This is probably the quickest and easiest fix
  16. Motor City Mike

If a hole is off a little!!!

You'll never be able to drill a 1/2 hole into an existing hole. You'll need to have material under the entire drill. You can't drill if 1/2 the bit is spinning in the air over the existing hole. It can be done with a mill and an endmill. Von Gruff explained exactly how to do it if you need...

    Speed question?

Probably not. I'm slow, slow, s-l-o-w. I also do my own heat treat and that would take a good six hours including tempering and that'd be skipping cryo

    My handle chipped......... :(

I would not let one of my knives out into the wild with a chipped or visibly repaired handle so I'd redo it as others have said. I'd take it to the portaband and cut them off then grind whatevers left off with a 36 belt.

What is your go-to Turkey slicer this Thanksgiving?

For the record, I hate turkey and my wife handles all the cooking and carving. That said, she'll probably use a knife by Ben Tendick that I got her before I started making knives. Did I mention that I hate turkey?
