Does This Happen To You?

Jermey Goertz, Simple Little Life, did a Y.T. review the other day of a gizmo that may help. Perhaps I'll make one.

That’s neat! If you make one, make me one too. Be glad to pay you for it. Super thin kitchen knives are killing me. :D

I'm thinking of noodling up something like this, all measurements subject to fit & test. It would be about 3/4" wide, the bar and pipe would be tack welded to the strap. Will likely drop the bar to 3/16 or 1/8" depending on thickness of blade, perhaps less? Maybe for 1/16" kitchen knives, rather than using bar stock for the support, I'll just weld a 1/16" strip to the strap. I need to work on a prototype to see how the support and finger placement feels in relation to the strap.

Home depot sells a nice magnet with a handle, it's a red one and it's strong, so strong you have to be careful removing it from side to side

That's the exact one I have been using it for about 6 or 7 years,I also slip a plastic sandwich bag over it to clean up around my mill and lathe and you just pull the baggie off and all the swarf comes with it.
That’s an amazing trick .... gonna do that tomorrow!

Did you google that gadget, it is extremely overpriced but good idea. 125 is min price.

That's a great idea! I never thought of that. that's great for cleaning up around the mill and drill press, which is always a pain.
