Rice 2020 WIP

Ok - I am at a crossroad. I am starting to have to squint from the light at the end of the tunnel - ol’ Hillbilly’s knife is getting close to being done.

Finish. So I read about epoxy, CA and tru-oil. Since the handle is Texas ebony, I am thinking tru-oil - please chime in.

Along the way I have 3 other blades that have made it this far - these are the ones I practiced many techniques on. Two of the handles are micarta and one is pine cone in resin. What are the +\- of finishes?

Boxing up and shipping tomorrow or next day (got an all nighter tonight)

It is far from perfect - I am sure there are many flaws, much like me. But I am quite proud of what I consider my first ever real knife.

Thanks guys for letting/encouraging me join in the KITH - what a great way to spemd the last 1/3 of 2020. I’ll post some pics of the sheath making just to catch up soon - but here is the knife the ol’ Hillbilly will be getting: I hope you like it Bruce. It’s gotta be the most expensive knife in the world - I have 943 hours in it.

Now - I have a box to open...
