Frame handle help and tips

I think I’m going to try a frame handle. I need some help in a few things.
how thick should the blade and frame be? For aesthetics I want them to be be equal, but I also need room inside the frame to get a bolt inside for tightening things up. Right?
Also any tips ahead of time would be greatly welcomed.

I have done several framed handles. I also like my frame and blade to be equal thickness. I have made them in 1/8th and 3/16ths. I do not use bolts though. I make the blade just like I would any other hidden tang knife. I normally use mild steel for my frames. I cut my frame to shape just like I would for a full tang knife handle. Then I trace the tang on the frame and cut out the shape of the tang. Do not forget to allow for the thickness of the guard and any spacers when tracing your tang on the frame. I recess the top of my frame into the bottom of the guard for a cleaner look. Then when I place my scales I use more pins than normal arranged in a pattern that ensures the frame and tang will not come apart. I used an older post by Bruce Bump on this forum on framed handle knives to develop my process. Maybe search framed handle and Bruce Bump you will find it. The post was easy to follow..

I also do the blade and frame at the same thickness (or a couple thousandths larger on the frame) that way there is little slop. I don’t use any bolts just pins.

Here is the WIP by Mr. Bump. I based my framed handles off of his method.
