Finished forged blade

Bodacious! I really like the looks of your knives with Micarta which I've never used. I'll have to try some.

Thanks Sean. I think you will like working with Micarta. Without opening up a can of worms there is a lot of opinions on micarta. As I understand it the original Micarta was a trade mark of GE and or Westinghouse and they used it in electrical switchgears and such. Today the term micarta is used for a lot of canvas, linen, rag etc material that is made using epoxy and pressure and not true micarta in the sense that it was originally if that makes sense.
Vintage micarta is getting harder to find and if has the name Westinghouse it comes at a premium. A search of flea bay will confirm that. The scales on this knife are of the vintage variety. I can tell you this - grinding present day vs vintage you call tell a difference, each is noxious but the old stuff particularly so.
Shadetree composites makes some nice micarta.

Thanks for reference on Shadetree composites. Been to their site before but I'd lost the link.

I think you really hit the mark on this one. It's simplicity is elegant. Very nice lines, nothing distracts the eye.

Thank you Heikki.
I like the lines as well and really enjoyed the forging to finish process on this build.
