For you guys who make Damascus i was wondering if i use thinner stock like .065 15n20 and 1/16 1084 does that put me ahead in layer count versus using larger stock such as 1/4

I seen a video of john neeman making a knife using a grinding rock, an was thinking of making a 10 inch grinder using a 2 x 10 rock for hollow grinding. I planned on adjustable speed. Belt driven shaft with rock attached any thoughts on this.
