You want pictures? Here you go!

Thanks for the compliments! Here's a tweak to a current mod that I did. The knife is the Seal 2000 with a wenge handle that I did. I learned that a little bleach really "brings out" the contrast in the grain of wenge. Here's a picture of the knife on top of an unbleached wenge board. I've...

    Teak as handle material?

I've only worked a little with teak burl, and that stuff clogs sand paper like crazy. I don't particularly like working with it. You might have to wipe the bonding side with lacquer thinner to get the oils off of it so it will adhere properly. If you're not gluing it to the blade, that won't...

    redo required...

If you're asking about removing the coating, don't waste your time sanding it off. That'll take forever. I speak from experience. Use something like Jasco Paint & Epoxy Remover. I did my Cold Steel SRK (seen in my mod thread) with a razor blade scraper and sand paper. I'll never do that...

I remembered seeing that, but I don't remember where. I did copy the pictures, because I thought it looked so nice. Here it is: I'd give credit and reference where it came from, but I don't remember. If anyone finds the site, that'd be great.

    S-7

I'd say yes. Scrap Yard Knives uses "modified" S7 with good results. Also, Justin Gingrich has made some S7 knives, and Gossman Knives has made some S7 knives. It seems that the common opinion is that it takes and holds a decent edge, but really shines in toughness. People seem to like S7...

Some of my old Emerson Mods

Nice work! How did you do the stripes on those last couple? I have a Benchmade Pinnacle that I may want to attempt that on. Again, nice!

Woah! I forgot one! The hardest of them all, my Becker BK2. I sripped it and put black paper micarta, gray spacer, and cocobolo handles on it, finished with lacquer. Before the lacquer and final sanding: A close up of the handles:

You want pictures? Here you go!

Well, here are some of my mods over the past few years. Starting with the first one, my Cold Steel SRK. It started with just stripping the coating and putting some walnut on for the handle, as well as a brass cross guard. This was before I ever tried using my dad's belt sander: After...

    Welcome to knife mods

Oh! This should be fun! I have a few that I've modified, but I'm leaning more towards trying to make my own right now. Mods will not end, though! In fact, I just got a Spyderco Mule in the mail today that I need to figure out handle material for.
