Ive been useing tru oil for about thirty years or so,refinished a gun stock when I was about 12 years old..like ed says,,long process,,the end finish is worth the work,And does seem to take couple of days to fully harden..You can also buy a sealer ,grain filler ! not as many coats//also use it...

My shop is in the basement! Am I nuts?? lol..There are windows in my basement,,I open them up,,winter/summer! I use a tarp to cover the entrance! from the laundry.I have a shop vac,that i use,,its on if Im grinding,,cutting! I change the furnace filter every 1st of the month! Been five years...

Justin,,that was one of my biggest concerns,,direct drive,, what do you think about covering that hole with steel plate,,and mounting a pillow block on each side of the GIB..running a drive shaft! might work,,then i can blow my money on a variable speed motor...lol

Hi,,ive used several different steels over the years..but never S7..Is it any better than A2? far as edge holding. Thinking about making a scandi,,puukko style knife.. It cost a bit more than A2..my favorite! for everything!! thanks.... Dan
