    Last night, I tried to assemble a Green River patch knife kit. When I compressed the rivets, it split the walnut scales. Were my rivets too long? The female side protruded into the other scale by 1/8". I drilled the scale slightly larger than the female side. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Corby bolt problem

    After drilling through the center of the female side, I was able to drive the male out. I think my mistake was not shortening the female side. It went through the tang and was stopped from going deeper by the scale on the other side. At least the kid I used included some extra corby bolts.

    Ferro Cerium Firesteel Flint Rod

    I have broken 2. Both were 3/16" x 4". But they were dropped on concrete floors. Other than a drop on a hard surface I don't think they will break.

    First Knife Handle Repair

    I realize that this thread is a few months old but I just joined the site. Do you use a release agent on the wood blocks that you stack the washers in during glue up?
