I don't generally use a pinch grip but I can't say I've ever seen gimping on a blade and it looks like it would be petty useful. Kitchen knives are a great test of ergonomics, blade geometry, and steel treatment, partly because they actually get used and won't continue to be used unless they...

Bruce/Jesse, The Brazilian knife makers get some amazing contrast on their blades with this procedure: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/737086-How-to-get-a-very-black-and-high-definition-damascus-Step-by-step! From what I understand it is similar (or the same as?) parkerizing...

It's just fascinating to watch the progress on this piece. Slipjoints must seem like a piece of cake compared to the complexity of this!

Cancer Research Damascus Fighter WIP on CKCA

Absolutely gorgeous. Does it have a half-stop? Joking aside, a knife like that would make me proud to own. And buying some tickets would also make me proud. So win-win.

A New Bruce Bump Slipjoint (#22)

#22 arrived safely today. Marvelous. Smooth and perfect. I took a couple of shots at slightly different angles and a couple of attempts to capture the damascus. I'm looking forward already to another one someday. It's impossible to imagine what #100 or higher might look like!
