DanF's KITH WIP

Blade is FFG, enough tang to cut off if I need to, or be a threaded through tang, I'll decide that once I pick the materials for bolster and handle.

Is that a Bruce Bump file guie Dan. Mine is one of the most important of my little knifemaking aids and I credit it with almost all my repeatability improvments.

If I remember correctly I ordered it through Uncle Al's. I'd be lost without it for sure!

No notable progress to report right now, just wanted to say that you fellows are going full out on your KITH's, they all look great, I'm enjoying reading through them all!

Knife on top is the forged blade lower is the stock removal. If you look closely at the forged knife you can see just a speck of cru de forge near the spine (currently 50 grit). In trying to get it all out I carried the grind just a tiny bit high. That will be easy to restore, I'll grind the blade vertically to thin the spine a bit and give me that transition curve back.
The shoulders have been filed in on the forged knife also.
Edited to add; handle will be a 3 piece handle.
IMG_20180822_123917.jpgI am working on a new to me sheath design, this is the prototype, it has a long way to go before it is ready for a knife. Not sure I can carry off the two-tone effect I was going for, may be a monotone finish if I can't get it right.
Edit to add: forgot to mention that I'm thinking of this for the KITH knife. Not sure if this style will work with a hunter or if I will have to go with a basic hunter style sheath.
