    Early Klingon Fighting Stick

I first saw this weapon in one of my many Star Trek dreams and decided to see if I could reproduce it. Hard to get exact measurements from a dream so I just did the best I could. The stick is around 20" and the head is 5 1/2" point to point. The head was made from a piece of space junk........

Dave, If I told you there was driftwood in outer space would you believe me? Actually in the real world the handle was a piece of common maple. After I had the shaping done I textured it with a carbide burr and then burnt it with a small propane torch and then wire brushed. Before I finished it off I stuck the handle in my forge and burnt it a second time and wire brushed again before I sealed it.

Now I've seen everything, Papa Smurf makes a Klingon hatchet. You gotta quit eating spicey food at bedtime.
