The way I make my dovetailed bolsters.

Art, can you tell me why knife makers call them "dovetailed". My father is a wood worker and "dovetailed" is something all together different.
 
They have always been called Dovetail even though they are not very much like a dovetail in woodworking.
 
Just like Tracy said they have always been called that. They are half a dove tail on each side .

I hope everyone can understand and follow what I'm doing. and I'll answer any questions .

I am glad you posted it because it helped me a lot. I just thought it was interesting they are called dovetailed. I did not see the half a dove tail until you pointed that out Art.
