    Finally Finished!

This knife and sheath have been hanging on one of the walls in my shop since about May. It wasn't an order so there was no rush on it. I think I just got tired of working on it. It had been up on the wall for so long I had forgotten why it was there. Anyway after I started rubbing the blade out it dawned on me why I hadn't finished it. Rubbing out large blades is a lot of work. Its done now except for putting the edge on it. I'm not sure if the blades is 1065 or 1084 but I know its one of the two. The blade is 11 1/2", overall its 16". Its got a fossil walrus ivory handle and bronze fittings plus one of my two ply leather sheaths.

    Awesome!

Wow! I think this knife surpasses "Funky Chicken" as one of my long-time favorites. The lines are purely sexy, and the ivory handle really sets it off. Your antiqued brass fittings are awesome too.

Gotta quit looking at this knife and sheath. I'm drooling all over my keyboard.

I'll second that! That's one sexy, sweeping knife. I love that handle; had I known you had it I'd have flown out there and snuck around in your shop till I found it while you slept... Or not. Maybe I'd just have admired it like I am now. Beautiful knife Ray, and I really dig all the carved stuff you put around it for us to admire.

Ray, A while back Tai Goo did a tutorial on a knife he was making and I made the sheath for it and also did a quick tutorial on the 2 ply sheath. Here's a link to it: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...nife-WIP/page7 As far as I know the 2 ply sheath is just being made by me except the newer ones are more like 3 ply. My sheath making venture is still a work in progress since I change things around so much.

I did the Washington Knife Show over the weekend. Managed to sneak these awards off the table when no one was looking. Just kidding, I'm not fast enough anymore. I'd sold the hunter right before the show opened but was still able to enter it.
