Western Repair with Extra User

Ausbrooks

KNIFE MAKER
Posted this Western repair on maint/repair forum (more restoration pics there) but finished the extra user made to go with it (it's a surprise for bro in law) so thought would post here. The stacked leather replacement came out ok but the cast aluminum (pot metal) butt had corroded under tape wrap on it so is a bit rough but better, at least stopped further corrosion. Made a same dimension user (440C, RC 60, LN2 cryo, micarta scales) so he could retire Western if wanted as his grandfather originally purchased it in MT and has been passed down. The Western sheath was re-sewn, cleaned, and treated with Sno-Seal. The user sheath has deerskin lining and I think took longer than the knife to make....:52:

Thanks Wade, I appreciate the compliment and the advice you gave- I'm happy the way it all turned out.

Thanks a lot Bob, Franklin, and Randy for the compliments- I really like restorations, as long as not too far gone- caught this one in time.
