I was thinking that I now need to start collecting Custom Knives.

I got an idea for a knife swap, I thought it would be a cool way to get knives from other makers and for other makers to get knives from me.

I will post up a knife that I currently have to trade and if anyone is interested in a swap just post up what you have with pics, or send a pm.
If this goes well maybe we can get a thread going just for this purpose!!


What I have is a Drop point skinner with patina.

3/16 - 1095 Heat Treated by Peters Heat Treat
OAL - 8 15/16''
Blade - 3 1/2''
Handle - 4 1/2''
Hand rubbed to 600 grit, with a patina
Scales are Cocobolo

This might be a great idea if people get in on it. I'd look forward to doing it. It's just that right now I have 2 for me I need to finish, and have 3 more that need to be built as gifts. Should I get all that completed in any reasonable time frame I'd be down for this. Your timing might be a bit off at the moment with Blade coming up. I'm sure a lot of guys are prepping for that over the near term.

Ok I'll swap.

One has to go into the Iron in the Hat next weekend but I can trade the other.

pattern welded O1 and 10xx knife. G11 handle. No sheath, but I'm going to learn how to make one this weekend at Indian George's hammer in.

Knife - wife..... I can see the mistake!! I would probably think the same thing if I weren't wearing my glasses too!!
