I thought while I'm waiting on the billet of steel for the raffle knife to get back from Delbert's I would post some pictures of another one. This knife has a blade ground from CPM154 stainless, and is 7 1/2" long. The fittings are 416. Handle is stabilized afzelia burl. I took some elements from the handle of my B3SHF, my version of a Big Bear, and added a butt and more flair, then fitted it all to double ground blade with curves. I finished it off with a great Paul Long sheath. Paul gave it his "quilted" look and added a textured leather throat.

This knife is available for $1400 (but it's not chiseled in stone). If you are interested contact me by PM or email at david@broadwellstudios.com

Comments and sales are always welcome!

One of these days I'm going to have to see about getting one of those for myself.

That is just gorgeous, David - no doubt the new owner is as happy as can be. Love the blade shape and that wood is beautiful. Paul also did a terrific job on the sheath - but then he doesn't know how to do them any other way.

Really nice work.

Thanks guys!

Mark and Daniel, I would be happy to help you with those dreams!

Roger, for years I've made knives without sheaths unless I had to. Most just didn't want them. Lots of good leather workers out there, but Paul comes along and suddenly I find more people wanting sheaths for my work. I had this knife at blade (had just finished it that week) and after the show I sent it to Paul for a sheath, and it was certainly worth it. The knife will be on its way to its new owner shortly, right after the other knife he bought gets a sheath.

I guess I should build another fighter for Blade and send it off to Paul. Got some W-1 for the blade. . .

Yep.

Broadwell / Long makes for an impressive overall package:

Fantastic work! Pieces like this are very inspiring and make me want to get out in the shop and get to grinding:) Very nice flow towards the tip of the knife, looks like it is in motion. Thanks for sharing and a picture of this knife is going into my inspiration folder if you don't mind. -Regards, Burton

Thanks, Allen.

I appreciate you posting the picture of your MLR, Roger. I had had Paul make a couple of basic sheaths but yours was the first with a higher level of work on it.

Stabber, got to work on your attitude towards sub hilts!

Burton, I am honored that my work inspires you. By all means put a pic in your folder.
