I had never seen titanium forged before. Pretty interesting how it acts under the hammer...

I had actually never realized that forging Ti was that easy. Pretty tough end product!

Randy is a great guy and an excellent 'smith. I took a class taugfht by him in non-ferrous forging a few years back and can say that forging Ti by hand is no picnic. It's fun, is challenging, but it's hard work. I also managed to prove to Randy that you can indeed burn Ti in a coal fire. :)

Amazing, I wonder how it holds an edge? Forgive me I have never worked with Ti.

It does not grind to a very fine edge or hold it. But I have forged a few Ti oyster knives that really only need to pry. Ti also does not hold the heat very long so you have to forge fast and heat often.

Dang! That is some tuff stuff! I assumed it would be a pain in the ass to forge just by the way it grinds.
