I finished this little beauty th eother day.

Blade forged from Scrapmascus (a collection of unknown tool and carbon steels from my off cut pile) The handle is Pink ivory burl with a little curl and copper fittings.

Awsome knife. Ivory burl? What kind of wood it that? It can't be ivory, right?

Pink Ivory is a cousin of African Black wood (dalbergia melonoxylon or black ivory) It is rare to get burl in these two woods but I have in both.

Beautiful knife! I like everything about it. You're also all over the cool wood, way to go. I've never seen pink ivory burl, and that's beautiful. How did you finish it? I can never get that kind of color out of pink ivory.

Great knife!
I second ddavelarsen's question about how you got that finish. I just ordered some pink ivory for a knife that I am making for my cousin. She does not know about it.
Thanks for the help.
