Who has a link/contact information for metal testing?

All the time people find a pile of metal and ask if it is any good for knife blades. The best answer is to get it tested. Problem is there isn't a list of places handy to test metal.

If you have a contact for some one to test mystery metal, please put it here.

I'll list several- 6-5 n pick em, ones as good as another really they run the same physical and chemical tests im sure. If someone here uses a lab, please let us know .

Another thought is, take it to the nearest big university and ask around til you figure whos best to see about it, you might get it done free as a learning exercise for the students :)

You could always ask Admiral about this as well. They may do this.
