How thin can I grind the edge of s30v before HT?

IIRC bro it is around the thickness of a dime or slightly more...

I recommend no thinner than .015-.020 on steels that do not need an oil quench. Oil quenching steels need to be a bit thicker, maybe up to .030. Any thinner & you stand the chance of getting an edge that looks like cooked bacon.
