View Full Version : Vacation in an Altoids tin
Here’s some stuff I came up with to go with my fire striker knives in a survival kit. The tweezers are work hardened mild steel, and the rest are spring tempered music wire.
Top to bottom,
Tweezers, poker, gig, spear and hooks.

Maybe you could make a needle, add some thread, and a couple buttons. I'm really liking the gig and the spear.

Offset hooks even. What a great kit!
Thanks!
Tracy, I used a 2 pound hammer for most of it, but about a one pound jewelers planishing hammer would also be fine.

The striker knife is 1095 and the edge guard is mild steel.
Also in the tin (same size as an Altoids tin):
Watercolor paper liner.
Hard Arkansas flint flake.
Steel wool.
Cotton cord.
Wire.
